Indonesia’s Competitiveness Ranking Rises to 27th Place

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia's competitiveness ranking rose to 27th in the world according to the 2024 World Competitiveness Ranking (WCR) research, conducted by the Institute for Management Development (IMD).
Indonesia scored 71.52 points from assessments in four criterias; economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure. In detail, Indonesia's ranking is supported by business efficiency which ranks 14th, followed by government efficiency and economic performance in 23rd and 24th positions. However, Indonesia's infrastructure is still ranked 52nd.
These place Indonesia as the third Southeast Asian country with the highest competitiveness. This new ranking is also an improvement of 7 positions from the previous position of 34th in 2023.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed his appreciation for this achievement. He thought this is a significant achievement as Indonesia is able to surpass the UK which ranked 28th and Japan at 38th.
