Weather Forecast Today: Light Rain in Some Cities

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Light rain has the potential to fall in several major cities in Indonesia on Friday (2/5/2025) today.
As reported by Antara, the weather forecaster of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Rira A Damanik revealed several cities that have the potential for light rain.
On the island of Sumatra, there are Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Tanjung Pinang. Meanwhile, Bandar Lampung has the potential for thick clouds.
"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in Palembang," Rira said.
Rira added that for the island of Java, light rain has the potential to fall in Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. On the other hand, the potential for hazy air occurs in Serang, smoke or fog in Bandung, and thick clouds in Yogyakarta.
For the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, the potential for hazy air is in Mataram, smoke or fog in Denpasar, and thick clouds in Kupang.
Several cities in Kalimantan will also experience light rain, namely Banjarmasin, Pontianak, and Palangkaraya. Meanwhile, moderate rain is occurring in Samarinda and rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Selor.
On Sulawesi Island, thick clouds have the potential to occur in Gorontalo. Meanwhile, light rain is expected to fall in Manado, Palu, Mamuju, Kendari, and Makassar.
For the Eastern part of Indonesia, Rira said, there is the potential for smoke or fog in Ambon, the potential for light rain is in Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, and Jayapura.
