Government Offers Free Homecoming Trip for 100,000 Travelers

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is preparing a free homecoming program for 100,000 people ahead of the 2025 Eid al-Fitr celebration. The news was revealed by Deputy Minister of Politics and Security (Polkam) Lodewijk F. Paulus on Monday (2/24).

“The free homecoming program, we have checked the readiness of the SOEs Ministry and Transportation Ministry. There will still be (free homecoming program). The quota is prepared for 100,000 people,” said Deputy Minister Lodewijk.

He explained that this program will be provided through a number of ministries/agencies. One of them is through state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that will prepare a number of fleets, through land, sea and air, to facilitate travellers.

These fleets will transport travellers to several areas such as Java and Sumatra. He mentioned that the Indonesian Armed Forces is also involved in supporting the availability of the fleet, including the transport of motorbikes.
