Horse Cavalry Detachment Displays Skills at the 79th Indonesian Armed Forces Anniversary

SEAToday.com, Jakarta – The celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces on Saturday (10/5) became even more festive with the appearance of a special unit showcasing its capabilities in defending the nation: the Horse Cavalry Detachment.
During the demonstration, around nine soldiers from the Horse Cavalry Detachment displayed their skills in combat. They were seen charging on horseback while carrying weapons.
Uniquely, these soldiers rode with one hand while the other hand held a weapon, such as a sword, which could be used to defeat enemies. In addition to swords, bows and arrows were also used as their primary weapons for long-range attacks.
The Horse Cavalry Detachment soldiers also showcased their ability to charge through flames, symbolizing their undying spirit.
According to Wikipedia, the Horse Cavalry Detachment, also known as "Bala Turangga Cakti" or "Denkavkud," is an operational unit under the Army Cavalry Center of the Indonesian Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command (Kodiklat TNI AD). Their main duties include conducting special operations, particularly security patrols not limited by road networks, as well as overseeing the training and education of military horses and personnel.

The celebration involves over 100,000 personnel and the display of 1,059 military equipment units.
Besides the horse cavalry performance, other attractions include a troop parade, military vehicle demonstrations, the Jupiter Aerobatic Team, parachute jumping, Rajawali Laut Flight, Anti-Drone demonstrations, fly-pasts, boomburst, and high-speed passes.
