SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pesident Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated 961 elected regional leaders in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (2/20). The officials sworn in include 33 governors and their deputies, 363 regents and 362 deputy regents, as well as 85 mayors and their deputies.
Dressed in formal all-white official attire, the newly appointed regional heads stood alongside their spouses, who wore traditional kebaya, in a show of unity and formality during the historic event.
This mass inauguration marks a significant milestone in the government's commitment to fostering a more effective, efficient, and transparent regional administration, with a strong emphasis on public service.
Following the ceremony, the regional leaders will participate in a retreat and leadership briefing at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, from February 21 to 28, 2025.
