Colorado Supreme Court Rules Trump Ineligible to Run for Presidency

SEAToday.com, Colorado - The Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday (12/19) that Donald Trump is disqualified from holding office and removed him from the state’s ballot, citing the constitution's insurrection clause due to his incitement of the January 6 insurrection.
The historic 4-3 decision marks the first time a presidential candidate has been deemed unqualified for office under a rarely used provision, Section 3 of the US Constitution's 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals from federal office if they have engaged in insurrection.
While the ruling applies only to the state's March 5 Republican primary, it is likely to also affect Trump's status for the general election in November. This sets up a probable showdown in the US Supreme Court to decide whether he can remain in the race.
Meanwhile, Trump's campaign has vowed to appeal to the US Supreme Court.
