SEAToday.com, The Hague-Top UN Court International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to halt its military operations in the Southern Gaza city of Rafah and withdraw from the enclave, Friday (5/24).

The court also ordered Israel to ensure and facilitate unimpeded access of humanitarian aid, as well as fact-finding missions into Gaza Strip. The court had asked Israel to also submit an open report of the measures that had taken effect, one week following the issuance.

The decision was part of South Africa’s genocide case against Israel, where South Africa had requested a new emergency provisional measures brought upon Israel’s latest offensive in Rafah. This marked the third time the court had issued preliminary orders seeking to rein in the death toll and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
