SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Monday (3/18) that the repetition of performing Umrah during Ramadan is not permitted.

The ministry stated that it would not issue permits for performing two or more umrahs during the holy month. According to Nusuk, the Saudi government's platform for facilitating umrah procedures electronically, a rejection message will appear when pilgrims try to obtain umrah permits more than once.

This rule was issued to reduce overcrowding at the holy site. Saudi Arabia also requests that pilgrims give the opportunity to others who also want to perform Umrah. The month of Ramadan is usually the peak point for the density of Muslims performing Umrah. To cope with the influx, the Saudi government has launched a series of measures to help pilgrims perform the ritual smoothly and comfortably.
