Weather Forecast Today: Some Cities Are Expecting Light Rain

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Several major cities have the potential to experience light rain on Tuesday (8/4/2025) today. Check out the following explanation.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through forecaster Nurul Izzah Fitria mentioned cities that have the potential to be showered with rain.

"In general, the Java region will experience light rain such as in Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, and Yogyakarta. Bandung and Surabaya have the potential for thick clouds," said Fitria as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, in the Sumatra region, light to moderate rain is predicted to fall in Padang, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Jambi, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Lampung. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds has the potential to fall in Banda Aceh and Medan.

"The Denpasar area is sunny and cloudy, while Mataram and Kupang have the potential for light to moderate rain," he said.

For Kalimantan, Nurul said that Pontianak and Samarinda will experience light rain. Meanwhile, Tanjung Selor and Palangkaraya have the potential to be hit by heavy rain accompanied by lightning. Banjarmasin itself is predicted to be covered in thick clouds.

Nurul added that several cities in Sulawesi that have the potential for light to moderate rain are Makassar, Mamuju, Palu, Gorontalo, and Kendari. Meanwhile, Manado is predicted to experience heavy rain.

Light to moderate rain is also predicted to fall in Ambon, Ternate, Manokwari, Nabire, Sorong, Jayapura, Jayawijaya. For Merauke, heavy rain is predicted to be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
