Ketapang and Gilimanuk Ports Closed During Nyepi Day 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Gilimanuk Port and Ketapang Port operations will be closed during Nyepi Day 2025 which coincides with the 2025 Eid al-Fitr homecoming transportation period, on March 29, 2025.
Based on information from ASDP Ketapang's official Instagram account, @asdp.ketapang, here is the following schedule for closing the operational services of the two ports:
Ketapang Port: Closed starting March 28, 2025 at 17.00 WIB and will reopen on March 30, 2025 at 06.00 WIB.
Gilimanuk Port: Closed starting March 29, 2025 at 05.00 WITA and will reopen on March 30, 2025 at 06.00 WITA.
This closing time considers a number of activities on the night before Nyepi, such as the Ogoh-ogoh parade.
“This will avoid the buildup in Bali, because in Bali before the Nyepi celebration there are usually a number of activities, including the Ogoh-Ogoh parade and to anticipate crossing traffic from Ketapang to Gilimanuk,” said ASDP President Director Heru Widodo.
The closure was also carried out as part of respect for the Nyepi celebration in Bali, where all activities are temporarily suspended, including public services and transportation.
In addition, with the temporary closure of port operations, ASDP will not sell crossing tickets during that period.
However, for people who have already purchased tickets, refunds will be facilitated.
