79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony Succesfully Held in IKN

SEAToday.com, Nusantara - The Red and White flag was officially raised in the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) for the first time, Saturday (17/8/2024).
The 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony took place on Saturday morning in two places, the State Palace in IKN, East Kalimantan and the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The ceremony at IKN was led directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Before being raised, The Flag was first handed over by the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono to the elected Paskibraka member Kachina Ozora, while the Proclamation Text was carried by Keylia Azahra Purnama.
The flag was then placed on the table of honor before being used in the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony. Likewise with the Proclamation Text which was placed on the podium of honor.
Unlike the previous year's Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony, President Jokowi first handed over the Red and White Flag on the table of honor to the tray bearer, Livenia Evelyn Kurniawan.
President Jokowi then returned to the podium for the raising process. From Livenia, the Red and White flag was handed over to three members of the Paskibraka flag hoisting team, namely Akmal Faiz Ali Khadafi from Central Java, Fifandra Ardiansyah Daud from North Maluku, and Tri Adyaksa S from South Sulawesi.
The hoisting ceremony was accompanied by the national anthem Indonesia Raya and went smoothly. "To the Red and White, Respect the Flag," said Fifandra.
The 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony took place at the IKN and Merdeka Palace. At the IKN, the ceremony was directly attended by President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo. Also present was President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
Meanwhile, the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace was attended by, among others, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Vice President Wury Estu Handayani. Also present was Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
