Ensuring a Peaceful Atmosphere During Nataru Celebrations

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The public anticipates a safe and harmonious Christmas and New Year (Nataru) season. On (December/19/2024), this sentiment was echoed during the Operational Coordination Meeting led by Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Jakarta.
“We fully support security measures for Nataru as directed by President Prabowo Subianto,” stated Alia Noorayu Laksono, Vice Chairperson of Jakarta’s DPRD Commission A, on Monday. The efforts align with a broader strategy to safeguard public festivities during this critical period.
To achieve this, authorities have established 2,794 command posts and deployed thousands of personnel to secure 61,000 locations. These include churches, recreational spots, and other public areas prone to large gatherings. The comprehensive plan aims to mitigate risks effectively.
Additional focus is directed toward shopping malls, terminals, stations, airports, ports, tourist attractions, and New Year celebration venues. This extensive security network underscores the importance of public safety across various sectors during the holiday season.
“We hope the celebrations proceed smoothly, ensuring citizens feel safe and well-served,” Alia concluded. Her optimism reflects a collective desire for Nataru festivities to inspire joy and unity without disruption.
