SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Holiday travel is set to peak in the coming weeks, with December 21 and 28, 2024, identified as critical dates.

"We anticipate a significant increase in travelers during Christmas and New Year," stated Pandapotan Sinaga, a member of the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD).

According to Pandapotan, this trend mirrors previous years when holiday travel surged during the festive season.

"Travel volumes are expected to rise from December 21 to 24, coinciding with school holidays," he noted. Authorities are urged to prepare for the influx.

The anticipated increase in travelers is notable, with an estimated 2.83% growth compared to 2023. "This year-end movement clearly underscores the need for robust preparations," Pandapotan emphasized.

To manage the surge, related agencies have pledged to provide optimal service. "Ensuring public safety and smooth operations during the holidays remains a top priority," he added confidently.

As the festive season nears, effective coordination among all parties is crucial. The community is also encouraged to plan ahead and stay informed to avoid travel disruptions.
