200 Officers Deployed for Nataru Traffic Security in South Jakarta

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - On (12/13/2024), the South Jakarta Transportation Agency confirmed the deployment of 200 officers to ensure smooth traffic during Christmas and New Year festivities.
“We’ve stationed personnel across key areas in South Jakarta,” explained Bernard Oktavianus Pasaribu, the agency head as quoted from Antara.
The security measures will be divided into three main focuses: Christmas Eve traffic, New Year’s celebrations, and tourist hotspots. "On December 25, efforts will center on churches, while New Year’s Eve will focus on areas along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin," Bernard elaborated. Tourist attractions like Ragunan will receive extra attention during holiday weekends.
To maximize resources, personnel distribution is designed to handle potential visitor surges. "Our goal is to anticipate and manage traffic efficiently," Bernard emphasized. These efforts align with broader city-wide preparations for year-end celebrations.
For greater coverage, Jakarta’s Transportation Department has mobilized 2,700 personnel to secure terminals across the city. This includes four main terminals—Pulo Gebang, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, and Tanjung Priok—as well as three auxiliary ones.
Nationally, the Ministry of Transportation projects 110 million travelers for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. This underscores the critical need for robust transport and traffic management strategies.
