KAI Ensures Ticket Availability for Christmas-New Year Travel

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) ensures that passengers can get tickets for travels during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. "Long-distance tickets can be purchased 45 days in advance, and local tickets can be bought 30 days before departure," says Anne Purba, VP of Public Relations at KAI, on (12/23/2024).
Besides that, KAI also grants flexibility, through the ease of rescheduling and ticket cancellation via Access by KAI. "These services will further facilitate passengers to manage their travel plans more easily," Anne added. During this fully extreme weather, KA commits to always striving for on-time performance throughout this holiday.
To ensure safety, KAI monitors weather conditions and conducts inspections at disaster-prone areas. “If extreme weather affects operations, we’ve prepared standby equipment at strategic locations,” Anne added. So far, no scheduled delays have been reported, ensuring smooth operations throughout the period.
Transport analyst Deddy Herlambang commended KAI’s readiness, noting its experience managing major holiday seasons like Lebaran and Christmas-New Year. “KAI has shown consistent improvement over the years,” Deddy said, highlighting advancements in technology, infrastructure, and ticketing ease.
Despite these advancements, Deddy suggested adjusting the ticket prices to be affordable for all economic segments. "It's now very easy to find tickets through various platforms like KAI Access, Shopee, and Traveloka. However, pricing needs consideration to remain inclusive," he concluded.
