SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) collaborated with the Egyptian Red Crescent, Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS), and PMI's local humanitarian partners to send 500 units of tents for refugees in Gaza, Palestine.
The 40-ton tents were transported using three container trucks that can accommodate 4-5 family members. PMI is also in the process of procuring 500 more units of tents so that by the end of June it is expected that the number of tents for Palestinian refugees will reach 1,000 units.
PMI Chairman Jusuf Kalla said, "The need for family tents is highly prioritized, in addition to the need for food, drinking water, and clothing."
Despite the deteriorating situation in Gaza, Jusuf Kalla urged that humanitarian aid must not stop and must continue.
