SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The National Police have launched Operation Ketupat 2024 to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow for travelers during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

As part of the operation, which runs from April 4 to 16, the Traffic Corps will offer a grace period for expired driving licenses and vehicle registrations. This applies to individuals who are unable to renew their documents due to the holiday rush.

Inspector General Aan Suhanan, Chief of the Police Traffic Corps, clarified on Friday (5/4) that expired licenses and registrations will not be subject to immediate penalties. Instead, drivers will be given a grace period to renew their documents after the Eid holiday.

"We have already received instructions to postpone enforcement actions until after the holiday," he stated.
