Pelni Predicts 588,903 Passengers During Eid al-Fitr

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) predicts that the number of ship passengers in the eid homecoming and return flows in 2024 will reach 588,903 people. This figure is a decrease from last year, which reached 632,155 people.

In the Eid 1445 Hijri Sea Transportation press conference, Wednesday (3/20), President Director of PT Pelni Tri Andayani said the decline occurred due to the reduced number of pioneer ships, from 42 routes in 2023 to 30 routes this year.

In addition, Tri Andayani also mentioned that the peak of the homecoming flow is expected to occur on April 5, while the return flow will be on April 26.

PT Pelni also predicts that the ports with the densest arrivals will be Surabaya Port with 59,555 people, Makassar with 45,061 people, Baubau with 33,424 people, Ambon with 28,105 people, and Balikpapan with 23,734 people.
