Seatoday.com – Jakarta. Great Headman Competition, not only to find out who is the best headman but also to unearth hidden potential of each village. This competition is to find hidden wealth that has not yet been exploited, such as natural and cultural resource tourism.
This potential can be raised to improve the welfare of citizens. The judges of the competition were Heru Jatmiko, Rukardi, and Edi Indarto from SMN. There was also Suherminawati from the Food Security Office and one staff from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
They carried out the judging of the Great Headman Competition in Candi village, Candisari sub-district, Semarang city. This team was accompanied by the secretariat (Tapem), Isia Kumala. The target of the assessment was the headman of Candi village, Ninik Purwati, accompanied by the head of the Candisari sub-district, Eka Kriswati.
During the question and answer session, the fact was revealed that Candi was an area inhabited by colonials. This makes Candi have many historical buildings that were colonial houses. This historic building can become a tourist destination when they are managed well.
Since the Dutch colonial era, this area has been residential, so it is not surprising that many old houses from the Netherlands are found. The buildings were European-style houses or villas, whether well-maintained or not. Apart from that, from Candi, we can see a clear view of the Semarang city.
Rukardi said that if the potential was explored and inventoried, it would become an exotic tourist destination. He also said that this place would become a special interest tourist destination in Semarang.
