Commitment to protecting the environment, Bontang received the 2023 Proklim Award

Seatoday.com, Jakarta. Bontang again received the 2023 Climate Village Program (Proklim) Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, along with 62 other regions.

The award was presented by the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, Dr. Soedjarwo Auditorium, Manggala Wanabakti Building, KLHK Jl. Gatot Subroto, Senayan, Jakarta.The award was received directly by the mayor of Bontang, Basri Rase.

Bontang should be proud after getting this award again. This award is a form of appreciation for regions that play an active role in implementing the program, said Siti Nurbaya in her speech.

She added that the award was also given as a recognition of the hard work of all regional governments. They have carried out their coaching functions well. It was also to appreciate the business sectors and non-governmental organizations (LSM) that have participated and played an active role in supporting the implementation of programs.

Bontang Mayor Basri Rase expressed his thanks and highest appreciation for the synergy of all parties in the Bontang area in completing the program in Kota Taman.

He said this award was not just ceremonial but had become a commitment of the Bontang government, which is about caring for the environment. Hopefully, it will provide enthusiasm and motivation for maintaining the achievements.

He hoped that through Bontang's Environmental Office, he could continue to add Proklim areas such as Telihan Sub-district. For achieving this award, he expressed his thanks to various parties. His goal is for Bontang to become a green city.
