Soedirman Award, an Appreciation for The Best Soldiers
Seatoday.com – Jakarta. The 2023 Soedirman Award will be given to the three best soldiers, who conform to the values of General Soedirman's struggle.
General Soedirman is one of our heroes. He was an extraordinary five-star general, who was born in Bodas Karangjati, Rembang, Purbalingga, on January 24, 1916.
“The TNI and the people are like fish and water. Fish will not live without water. It is the people who bear, care for, and raise the TNI,” said President Joko Widodo, at the TNI anniversary several years ago, citing a statement of TNI Major General (Posthumous) Raden Soedirman, regarding the TNI's relationship with the people.
This message is still very relevant today. It can be a stepping stone for TNI soldiers to carry out their duties on all battlefields.
General Sudirman was a great figure. He could lead and organize the soldiers. He was also religious and respected by society. He was one of the figures who was born out of a revolution. At the age of 31, he became a general. Even though he was sick, he continued to fight against the Dutch with all his might.
The message regarding the unity of the TNI and the people is still sustainable and guides soldiers up to now.
"We, the soldiers of the Republic of Indonesia, will rise and fall with the country."
This motto is so meaningful.
To appreciate the services of soldiers, the 2023 Sudirman Award, initiated by TNI Admiral Yudho Margono in synergy with detik.com, will be held from September to October this year.
There are 3 categories of awards given in this activity, namely: Dedicated Soldiers, Innovative Soldiers, and Indonesian Territory Guard Soldiers. They will be awarded to soldiers in each dimension.
The selection of candidates for the 2023 Soedirman Awards begins on September 1st, 2023 through two proposal routes. First, the public can propose via digital form. Second, internal TNI forces can also provide suggestions to the committee. The recipients of the 2023 Sudirman Awards will be announced on October 28th, 2023, after being decided by a panel of experts on the three award recipients.
