Seatoday.com - Jakarta. It is amazing. A building resembling a pyramid was found around Lake Toba. The Geological Agency will review the discovery of the site further.
Head of the Geological Agency, M Wafid, in his statement, said that the discovery of the pyramid-like site needed to be clarified and explained carefully. The Geological Agency is committed to continue studying these findings with adequate resources and research. This site was found in Bakti Raja (Bakara) District last March.
He said this discovery was very interesting and also promising but it required further research.
There are two possibilities to provide a more realistic explanation.
The structure that looks like a pyramid, is probably the result of the triangular facets, often found on the rim of the Toba Caldera. The second possibility, the triangular facet may have formed after the formation of the Toba caldera, and was then used by civilizations that emerged after this event around 75,000 years ago.
Research professor from the Geological Disaster Research Center at the National Research and Innovation Agency, Danny Hilman Natawidjaya, stated that the pyramid was discovered when he was researching the path of the earthquake last March. He examined the path of the earthquake and unexpectedly it turned out that the structure was a large rock 120 m high. The shape of the building is like a pyramid with half of its body attached to a 74,000-year-old Toba Tuff hill. His team will also examine this structure further.
Danny also said that he wanted to know the external structure in more detail and whether there were any other structures in the building. He also wants to know whether the age of the building is 1.000 or 5.000 years.
