The international exhibition of art and design “Mutuality “ was flooded with visitors

Seatoday.com – Jakarta. An international art and design exhibition, located in Cultural Park Gallery Padang West Sumatera, was crowded by visitors. Most of them are students.

The great exhibition held by the Art Department Of Language And Art Faculty at Padang State University was to celebrate the sixtyth anniversary of the university. Arman, the Dean of the Language and Art Faculty stated that the participants came from five countries along with the local participants from all provinces in Indonesia. The lecturers, teachers, practitioners, and students take part in the exhibition. The event was very great and made the university proud.

He also said that it became a part of the Art Department's contribution to the National Education development in the middle of the global era.

The students have to be prepared to face global world competition by providing them a chance to improve their skills and creativity. Therefore, the Art Department should create many kinds of events to accommodate the student's artwork. The other aim is to give a chance for the students in the competitive world as an effort to always exist in the future.

The Art Department has two study programs, namely Fine Arts Education And Visual Communication Design. They have strategic opportunities to build creative and innovative generations.

The international exhibition was also highly appreciated by the alumni of the Art Department, at Padang State University, said Supriyadi, the chief of the Cultural Park Gallery. He said that the displayed artworks show the potential and quality of them.

Kuss Indarto, the curator, said that the fundamental problem is whether the artworks can be a medium of the artists’ expression. Furthermore, he also inquired whether they can have a good impact on the environment and become the symbols, representations, and markers of the times.
