The launching of TPS3R in Sidrap overcome waste problem

Seatoday.com, Jakarta. Waste management is very urgent. Many methods have been used by the government and also the community to overcome the waste problem.

BBPW (Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center) South Sulawesi provides assistance for some regencies to operate the Community Self-help Groups (KSM) in managing Waste Processing Sites Reduce Reuse Recycle (TPS3R). Socialization of TPS3R is held in Sidrap Regency on Monday, October 23th, 2023.

In the occasion, the secretary of Environmental Services Sidra Regency, Andi Alauddin Kerrang stated that waste management become the homework for all region in Indonesia including Sidrap.

The great event was held at the same time with the commemoration of World Habitat Day. Andi also said that the good management of waste problem become a commitment of Sidrap Local Government. It will be better if the residents take part on the waste management program by maintaining the cleanliness of the environment and habitat.

The location of TPS3 R has been determined by the government of South Sulawesi, in Lakessi, Maritengngae Sub-distric, Sidrap Regency.

To reach the best result, the socialization toward the wase management system and the operasional improvement of TP3R should be given before it is operated. The activity is held by BPPW South Sulawesi in Sidrap Regency.

The local government will involve the resident in the operation of TP3R and provide the fund to buy two units of six-wheeled vehicles and one unit of three-wheeled vehicles. Those vehicles will be maximized to improve the service of waste management.  It is the real action of the government.
