Ratusan Bayi di Irak Dinamai Nasrallah Usai Pemimpin Hizbullah Tewas karena Serangan Israel

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Kementerian Kesehatan Irak melaporkan bahwa sekitar seratus bayi yang baru lahir dinamai "Nasrallah" setelah pemimpin Hizbullah Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, tewas akibat serangan Israel.
Dilansir dari The New Arab, kementerian mendaftarkan 100 kelahiran di berbagai daerah di Irak yang diberi nama tersebut, beberapa media lokal melaporkan. Menurut salah satu media, langkah ini dilakukan untuk menghormati martir perlawanan.
Nasrallah dibunuh dalam serangan besar-besaran Israel di pinggiran selatan Beirut pada Jumat, 27 September 2024.
Lahir pada 1960, Nasrallah bergabung dengan Hizbullah pada 1982, tahun di mana Hizbullah dibentuk dengan bantuan Garda Revolusi Iran untuk berperang melawan pasukan Israel yang menginvasi Lebanon.
Dikenal sebagai murid yang berdedikasi terhadap Islam Syiah, ia dengan cepat naik pangkat dan menjadi sekretaris jenderal ketiga kelompok tersebut pada tahun 1992 setelah Israel membunuh pendahulunya, Abbas Musawi.
Ia secara luas dipandang sebagai simbol perlawanan terhadap Israel dan pengaruh Barat di wilayah tersebut oleh banyak orang di Irak, terutama di kalangan mayoritas Syiah di negara itu.
Penentangannya terhadap pengaruh AS di Timur Tengah juga menarik bagi banyak orang Irak, terutama mereka yang kritis terhadap kehadiran AS di Irak setelah invasi 2003.
