SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Di tengah ramai polemik terkait Uang Kuliah Tunggal (UKT) yang mahal, Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere di Kabupaten Sikka, Nusa Tenggara Timur justru mengizinkan mahasiswanya membayar uang kuliah pakai hasil Bumi.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere menawarkan kemudahan semaksimal mungkin agar masyarakat setempat dapat memperoleh akses pendidikan tinggi. Alternatif pembayaran uang kuliah bisa dengan hasil Bumi maupun komoditas pertanian.

"Itu (bayar kuliah dengan hasil bumi) sudah lama kami terapkan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere," kata Rektor Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere, Erwin Prasetyo, dilansir dari laman Muhammadiyah.

Kampus ini juga memberi opsi pembayaran uang kuliah lewat cara dicicil selama enam tahun atau 72 kali masa cicilan (dibayar per bulan). "Cicilan itu tanpa bunga," ungkap Erwin.

Menurut Erwin, pemberian waktu enam tahun itu dapat memudahkan para mahasiswa membayar kuliah ketika mereka telah lulus kuliah empat tahun dan kemudian bekerja. Namun sebelum lunas, kampus hanya memfasilitasi fotokopi ijazah agar alumni dapat leluasa mencari pekerjaan.

Selain dua skema di atas, Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere juga menerima beasiswa KIP (kartu Indonesia Pintar) dan beasiswa LazisMu. Kemudahan lain diberikan dengan menawarkan potongan biaya kuliah untuk para pendaftar.

"Itu kemudahan-kemudahan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Maumere," jelasnya.
