SEAtoday, com, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the regulation to restrict purchase of subsidized fuel is targeted to take effect on October 1, 2024. However, this regulation is still waiting for the stipulation of a Ministerial Regulation and socialization to the public.

“Yes, there is indeed a plan (for October 1). Because once the regulation and Ministerial Regulation come out, there will be time for socialization. I am currently discussing the socialization time,” said Minister Bahlil on Wednesday (8/28).

He also said that he could not provide details about the regulation because it was still under review.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo mentioned that this regulation is still in the process of socialization. “I think we are still in the process of socialization. We will see what the conditions in reality are like, there has been no decision and no meeting,” he said.
