SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Coinciding with its anniversary, Jakarta officially became a member of the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF), Saturday (6/22). This makes Jakarta the first city in Southeast Asia to join the WCCF.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head Andhika Permata hopes this can be a means to promote Jakarta tourism in the art and culture-based creative industries so that it can improve the quality of life of the community. According to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to making Jakarta the center of the national economy with international competitiveness.

WCCF is a global network with participants of more than 40 cities in the world. Jakarta Culture Agency Head Iwan Henry Wardhana hopes Jakarta will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members for positive change through the exchange of ideas and innovations. He hopes Jakarta will be able to develop a city strategy based on cultural tourism.
