Yogyakarta – Hluboká nad Vltavou Become First Sister Cities of Indonesia, Czech Republic
SEAToday.com, Yogyakarta - Indonesia and the Czech Republic signed a letter of Sister Cities Cooperation between the City of Yogyakarta in Yogyakarta Special Region Province and the City of Hluboká nad Vltavou in the South Bohemian Region, Monday (5/20).
The cities of Yogyakarta and Hluboká nad Vltavou are both considered to be international tourist destinations, as hosts to a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The people of both cities highly hold their cultural heritage, reflected by their efforts to preserve it through various cultural heritage programmes, festivals, and interactive education for the younger generation.
The cooperation covers various fields, including tourism promotion, cultural exchanges and performances, small and medium enterprise (SMEs) development, as well as education and youth. Within the next year, it is expected that the implementation of this cooperation can be outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
