SEAToday.com, Tabanan - UNESCO has designated Subak agricultural technology in Bengkel Village, Tabanan, Bali, as an ecohydrological demonstration site on Thursday (5/23).

The Subak Bengkel area is considered successful in integrated water management with a sustainable approach. This system reduces the risk of crop failures and integrates the local cultural principle, Tri Hita Karana.

While the Subak irrigation system itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Subak Bengkel was more recently recognized as an ecohydrological demonstration area on September 15, 2023.
