SEAToday.com, Jakarta - TikTok vowed to challenge in court the newly-signed law in the United States that could result in banning or selling of the app in the country.

In a statement shared on the app’s X account (@/TikTokPolicy), it called the law as “unconstitutional”. It said that they have invested billions of dollars to keep the US data safe from outside “influence and manipulation”. It also promises the app to remain a safe space for Americans.

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday (4/24) signed into law a bill that requires TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to divest the app in nine months, or it will be blocked in the US. The law cites security concerns that the app might share the user data with the Chinese government.
