SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian government announced a USD1 million aid package each for Palestine and Sudan on Tuesday (3/26) after a Ministerial Coordination Meeting (RTM) discussing health emergencies in both countries. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy revealed the decision at the meeting.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, also present, stated that this assistance is part of the government's 10-year commitment to humanitarian diplomacy. The aid will focus on the health sector, as requested by their respective governments.

Minister Retno explained that due to logistical challenges on land routes, the aid will be delivered via air at the invitation of Jordan. For assistance to Palestine, Indonesia will collaborate with the Egyptian government and focus on providing aid to North Gaza. The delivery is planned for next week.
