SEAToday, Gaza - Senior Palestinian Officer Brigadier General Fayeq Al-Mabhouh was killed by the Israeli military during their raid into the al-Shifa hospital, said the Gaza media office on Tuesday (3/19).

The statement said that al-Mabhouh was the head of police operations in Gaza and was responsible for coordinating the United Nations Relief Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) to secure the entry of humanitarian aid into northern Gaza.

“This crime shows that Israel is seeking to spread chaos in Gaza and prevent the arrival of humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of hungry people in northern Gaza,” it added.

The Israeli military, for its part, claimed that it killed the head of Hamas’ Internal Security Service.

On early Monday (3/18), the Israeli military stormed into the al-Shifa hospital complex, filled with thousands of displaced civilians, medical staff, and patients. According to Palestinian officials, the raid resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, along with the arrest of dozens of people.
