Greater Jakarta LRT Increases Daily Trips Starting March 1
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Great news for public transportation lovers, Greater Jakarta LRT increased the number of daily trips starting 1 March. A total of 44 daily trips are added on weekdays, while 20 trips are added on weekends.
This will increase the number of daily LRT trips on weekdays to 308 trips per day, and 260 trips on weekends. In addition, it will also reduce the waiting time between trains (headway) to 6 minutes for the Cawang-Dukuh Atas route, and 12.5 minutes for the Harjamukti - Cawang and Jatimulya - Cawang routes.
Greater Jakarta LRT Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono said the addition was intended to improve LRT services based on the increasing trend in the number of LRT users. He explained that in December, LRT recorded 1,029,686 passengers, while data as of 28 February showed an increase to 1,202,087 passengers.
He hoped that this addition will continue to increase the number of users and public interest in LRT, so as to reduce congestion and air pollution in Jakarta and surrounding areas.
