SEAToday.com, Cianjur - The Titan Arum/corpse flower or Amorphophallus titanum in the Cibodas Botanical Garden collection bloomed again in early 2025.

The garden's social media account (@kebunraya.cibodas) wrote that this giant flower fully bloomed on Monday (2/17) with a cob height (spadix) of 293 cm and a flower width (spatha) of 126 cm.

This endangered Sumatran endemic plant specimen has a unique life cycle so it takes a long time to return to flowering from its last bloom in 2019 with a height of 2.8 m.

BRIN’s Scientific Collection Management Junior Expert Researcher Destri explained that the specimen may have experienced a decline in media quality, causing a delay in flowering that should have occurred in 2023. However, she also mentioned that this delay made its food reserves accumulate more so that the flower height exceeded the previous one.
