SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor-elect Pramono Anung promised five parks in Jakarta will operate 24 hours as creative and entertainment centres for the public after he is inaugurated. In response to this, the government said that there are already a number of parks that are ready to open 24 hours.

The parks are Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park, Langsat Park, Ayodya Park and Tebet Eco Park in South Jakarta; Menteng Park and Banteng Field Park in Central Jakarta; Simpang UKU Park and Humaniora Park in East Jakarta; and Gorontalo Park in North Jakarta.

These parks were chosen due to their adequate infrastructure and facilities. This includes security, public transport access, toilets, and lighting. In addition, these parks are considered to have strategic locations.

These parks are planned to operate 24 hours starting at the end of February. The government will also coordinate with neighbouring communities regarding this.
