SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Badan Geologi, Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) menurunkan status Gunung Lokon di Kota Tomohon, Sulawesi Utara, menjadi Waspada atau Level II.

Penurunan status ini berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, analisis, dan evaluasi data visual dan instrumental aktivitas Gunung Lokon.

Tingkat aktivitas Gunung Lokon pun diturunkan dari Level III (Siaga) menjadi Level II (Waspada) sejak tanggal 31 Januari 2025 pukul 06:00 WITA.

Aktivitas vulkanik Gunung Lokon sendiri dipantau secara visual dan instrumental dari Pos Pengamatan Gunung Api (PPGA) di Kelurahan Kakaskasen, Kecamatan Tomohon Utara, Kota Tomohon.

Adapun erupsi terakhir terjadi pada tahun 2011 berupa erupsi abu dan lontaran material pijar yang jatuh kembali di sekitar kawah, sementara tingkat aktivitas Level III (Siaga) sejak 10 November 2024.

Aktivitas vulkanik asap kawah pada Desember 2024 hingga 10 Januari 2025 umumnya putih tipis hingga sedang tinggi sekitar 15-25 meter.

Sedangkan, kegempaan didominasi oleh gempa vulkanik dangkal yang terekam berkisar antara 1 hingga 102 kejadian per hari.

Sementara itu, asap kawah secara visual teramati putih tipis dengan tinggi umumnya 10 meter di atas puncak pada Januari 2025 yang sebelumnya sekitar 15 meter di atas puncak.

Secara instrumental terjadi penurunan aktivitas kegempaan, khususnya gempa vulkanik dangkal sejak 1-29 Januari 2025.

Kegempaan menunjukkan penurunan yakni pada 2 Januari 2025, gempa vulkanik dangkal terekam sebanyak 102 kejadian per hari dan kondisi ini berangsur menurun hingga pada 15 Januari 2025.

Pada periode tersebut, gempa vulkanik dangkal terekam sebanyak 15 kejadian per hari serta pada tanggal 20 hingga 29 Januari 2025 jumlah gempa terekam berkisar antara 1-5 kejadian per hari.
