SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Presiden Prabowo Subianto akan membangun sekolah rakyat khusus untuk anak keluarga tak mampu dan tergolong miskin ekstrem.

Pembangunan sekolah rakyat khusus ini di bawah kewenangan Kementerian Sosial.

"Presiden juga ingin membuat sekolah khusus untuk anak-anak yang tidak mampu, tetapi masih di bawah naungan orang tua dibina langsung khusus dalam sekolah rakyat," kata Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Muhaimin Iskandar.

Hal ini ia sampaikan usai mengikuti rapat terbatas tentang pemberdayaan masyarakat yang dipimpin Presiden Prabowo Subianto di Istana Kepresidenan Bogor, Jawa Barat, Jumat (3/1/2025).

Program sekolah rakyat ini nantinya masih akan diuji coba pada tiga titik di wilayah Jabodetabek.

Sekolah ini akan mengutamakan siswa dari keluarga tidak mampu dan tergolong miskin ekstrem.

Sementara itu, sekolah rakyat tersebut akan berbentuk seperti sekolah asrama (boarding school) sehingga gizi siswa dapat terjamin.

"Sebetulnya yang diutamakan boarding school-nya yang paling penting sehingga gizinya tertangani," kata Muhaimin.

Pemerintah masih terus menguji coba sekolah rakyat tersebut tanpa dipungut biaya.
