Candidates for Deputy Ministers Arrive at Prabowo's Residence
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Several candidates for deputy ministers and agency heads arrived at the residence of President-elect Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Tuesday, (15/10/2024), at 14:02 WIB. The gathering followed the initial meetings held the previous day as part of preparations for cabinet appointments.
Among those who arrived were notable figures such as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala Mansury, former Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya, Golkar Party politician Christina Aryani, and PSI politician Isyana Bagoes Oka. These individuals are potential candidates for key positions in Prabowo's upcoming administration.
In addition, Budiman Sudjatmiko, a key advisor to the Prabowo-Gibran campaign team, also made his way to the residence shortly after the first group. His presence further signaled the importance of these discussions for the shaping of the new cabinet.
Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party, stated earlier that the number of cabinet candidates meeting with Prabowo on Tuesday was higher than on Monday. "I haven’t counted how many, but some ministries have two nominations, others have one, so there are quite a few," Dasco explained, as cited by ANTARA. This increase reflected the complexity of selecting candidates for the diverse roles within the government.
Dasco also highlighted that many of the candidates who met Prabowo came from professional backgrounds, suggesting that the cabinet would be a mix of political and professional appointees. "There are more professionals among the candidates for ministers, agency heads, and deputy ministers," he added.
The series of meetings, as part of the preparation for Prabowo's cabinet, continues to draw attention as more figures are considered for important governmental roles in the new administration.
