Indonesia Ranks as the 2nd Friendliest Country in the World

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Local Friendliness 2024 survey reveals that Indonesia is known as a country with a very friendly society. The InterNations organization released the Ease of Settling In Index, which assesses the ease of making friends, culture and welcome, and hospitality of the local population.
In the latest poll, Indonesia ranked second out of 53 countries in the category of local hospitality. Other Southeast Asian countries that ranked highly were the Philippines in fourth and Vietnam in fifth.
Indonesia only lost out to Costa Rica in terms of local hospitality. The index measures how friendly locals are, the frequency of their interactions with foreigners, and their level of happiness living in the country.
The countries with the highest level of friendliness in 2024 according to InterNations are Costa Rica, followed by Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines and Vietnam.
In the other two sub-categories, ease of making friends and culture and welcoming Indonesia came in fourth place. The top ten countries in the 2024 Ease of Settling Index are Costa Rica, Mexico, Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Thailand, Panama, Colombia, Kenya and Greece.
