President Jokowi uses South Kalimantan traditional Clothes on the ceremony of lowering the flag back in IKN

SEAToday.com, IKN - President Joko Widodo once again donned traditional attire during the flag-lowering ceremony at the State Palace, IKN, on Saturday (August 17, 2024).
Unlike previous years when he only wore a suit, for his final flag-lowering ceremony this year, Jokowi chose to wear traditional clothing.
President Jokowi wore traditional attire from South Kalimantan, dominated by the colour red.Meanwhile, First Lady Iriana Jokowi also wore matching traditional clothing from South Kalimantan.
President Jokowi wore the South Kalimantan traditional outfit called "Banjar Baamar Galung Pancar Matahari."
The Banjar Baamar Galung Pancar Matahari attire is often worn during wedding ceremonies by the Banjar people. This traditional attire symbolises radiance like the sun and is typically worn in wedding ceremonies by the Banjar community.
The bride's outfit features short sleeves adorned with beaded fringes. There is also a "kida," a five-sided chest cover. The groom wears a long-sleeved shirt with chest decorations.
Sometimes, the groom also wears an unbuttoned jacket. The lower part consists of long pants wrapped with a fabric featuring a halilipan pattern around the waist. The Banjar Baamar Galung Pancar Matahari outfit reflects influences from Javanese and Hindu cultures, especially in its decorative elements.
