180 Tawanan Perang Rusia- Ukraina Berhasil Ditukar Berkat Mediasi UEA
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Uni Emirat Arab (UAE) mengumumkan, upaya mediasi mereka telah menghasilkan keberhasilan dalam pertukaran 180 tawanan perang antara Rusia dan Ukraina.
Dalam sebuah pernyataan, Kementerian Luar Negeri UEA mengatakan jika ini merupakan mediasi kelima sejak awal tahun ini.
UEA memanfaatkan hubungan dan kemitraan yang berbeda dengan kedua belah pihak untuk mendapatkan peran sebagai mediator.
Sebagai perantara netral, UEA berupaya memfasilitasi dialog dan deeskalasi antara Rusia dan Ukraina.
Selain itu, UEA juga berhasil memediasi pertukaran tahanan antara AS dan Rusia pada Desember 2022.
Rusia telah melakukan operasi militer di Ukraina sejak 24 Februari 2022. Hal tersebut dikatakan Moskow sebagai tanggapan terhadap rencana Ukraina untuk bergabung dengan aliansi NATO yang dapat mengancam keamanan nasional Rusia.
