SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto officially received a special promotion from retired three-star general to honorary four-star general.

"I would like to convey the special rank of honorary TNI General to Mr. Prabowo Subianto,"

"This award is a form of appreciation as well as confirmation to give full service to the people, to the nation and to the state," said President Jokowi at the TNI-Polri Rapim event at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Wednesday as reported by Antara.

President Jokowi also congratulated Prabowo on the increase. Meanwhile, this increase made Prabowo have the title "General of TNI (HOR)" in front of his name.

Prabowo adds to the list of retired TNI military officers who received special promotion awards to the rank of honorary general. Previously there were Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Hendropriyono, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Sarwo Edhie Wibowo
