Indonesia to Host the 37th UN Tourism CAP-CSA Joint Commission Meeting

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia will host the 37th Joint Commission Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the Commission for South Asia (CSA) on 15–16 April 2025 at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta.
"Leaders and delegates from various countries will gather to discuss the future of global tourism, including recovery strategies, innovation, and sustainable development. The event will also present reports on the implementation of UN Tourism programs in the East Asia and Pacific, as well as South Asia regions. Additionally, the meeting will cover the regional commission’s activities planned for 2025 and proposed plans for 2026," said Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana in an official statement, as quoted on Antara, in Jakarta on Friday.
Hundreds of UN Tourism members, affiliate members, international organizations, and global tourism experts are expected to attend. Their presence is expected to boost tourism's direct and indirect contributions to local communities.
Key activities will include the 37th CAP-CSA Joint Meeting, the 60th CSA Meeting, the 56th CAP Meeting, the Networking Dinner, and the UN Tourism Regional Forum on Circular Economy in Tourism.
Delegates will also take part in a technical tour featuring local MSME products at Sarinah and a visit to the National Museum.
Widiyanti emphasized that hosting the event offers Indonesia a golden opportunity to showcase its cultural richness, top destinations, and sustainable tourism policies.
She called for cross-sector collaboration to ensure the event’s success and reaffirm Indonesia’s leadership in building inclusive, innovative, and sustainable tourism.
“Let’s make CAP-CSA 2025 a success and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading global destination,” she said as quoted on Antara.
