98.86 Percent Hajj Quota Filled, Says Ministry of Religious Affairs

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has confirmed that 201,012 prospective pilgrims have completed payments for the 2025 regular Hajj, accounting for 98.86% of the 203,320 total quota allocated for the year.
“There are 201,012 people who have paid the regular Hajj fees as of this afternoon. With five days remaining before the end of the payment period, we are optimistic that all quotas will be filled,” said Muhammad Zain, Director of Domestic Hajj Services, as quoted on Antara, in Jakarta on Thursday.
The second phase of payment for the 1446H/2025 Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih) will close on April 17, 2025, following a pause during the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
Indonesia received a total Hajj quota of 221,000 for 2025, comprising 203,320 for regular Hajj and 17,680 for special Hajj. The regular Hajj quota is divided among 190,897 confirmed pilgrims, 10,166 priority elderly pilgrims, 685 Hajj guides from official Hajj and Umrah travel groups (KBIHU), and 1,572 regional Hajj officers (PHD).
Zain detailed that the payments include 177,798 confirmed pilgrims (from both phases), 21,504 from the waiting list, 1,498 PHD officers, and 212 KBIHU guides.
“We urge pilgrims to make use of the remaining days to complete their payments so that the entire quota can be absorbed,” he said as quoted on Antara.
In addition to the payment process, the Ministry is also preparing travel documents as part of the e-Hajj visa application process.
“We’ve already started processing pilgrims’ documents gradually, so once e-Hajj opens, we can immediately move forward with visa applications,” he added as quoted on Antara.
According to the Ministry’s Hajj Management Directorate, Indonesian pilgrims are scheduled to begin arriving at Hajj dormitories on May 1, 2025. Departures to Saudi Arabia from regional embarkation points will commence the following day.
