Palestinian Death Toll Surpasses 700 in Israeli Strikes

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - More than 700 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s massive airstrikes on Gaza since Tuesday (3/18), according to the local Ministry of Health.

“The bodies of 710 people have been evacuated to hospitals since Tuesday, while more than 900 others have been injured,” said ministry spokesperson Khalil Al-Dakran, as quoted on Antara, on Thursday.

He stated that 70 percent of those injured in Israel’s latest assault were women and children.

"Many of the wounded have died due to a lack of immediate medical assistance, as Israel’s blockade of Gaza has caused severe shortages of essential medicines and medical equipment," the spokesperson added as quoted on Antara.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces launched a sudden large-scale airstrike on Gaza, effectively ending the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January 19, 2025.

Since October 2023, more than 50,000 Palestinians—most of them women and children—have been killed in Israel’s brutal assault on Gaza. Additionally, over 112,000 people have been injured.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense chief Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
