SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Director of PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) Welfizon Yuza confirmed that all Transjakarta buses will begin operations at 09.00 WIB on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

“All activity in the morning will be shut down to allow all personnel to focus on Eid. There will be no buses operating until 09.00 WIB. The first day of Eid al-Fitr will follow the decision made by the government,” Welfizon said, as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that these adjusted operational hours will also apply to buses on tourism routes. However, service will return to normal on the second day of Eid.

There has been no confirmation on whether special pricing will be implemented for Eid celebrations, as it depends on regulatory decisions.

“As in previous years, demand usually declines as Eid approaches. Adjustments will be made accordingly to optimize subsidies, and the number of operating units may be reduced,” Welfizon added, as quoted by Antara.

Transjakarta is also working with the Department of Transportation (Dishub) DKI Jakarta to provide vehicles at key arrival points for Eid homecoming travelers, such as terminals.

“We are preparing for that. So, when passengers arrive at the terminals, there will be feeder buses ready to transport them to their destinations,” Welfizon emphasized, as quoted by Antara.

Expecting a high number of visitors at tourist attractions, Transjakarta will also focus on increasing bus availability in popular destinations, including Ragunan, Ancol, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).
