China and Four European Nations Agree on Gaza Reconstruction Plan

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - China has expressed its agreement with the support provided by the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy for the early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, Palestine.
This initiative, led by Egypt and other Arab nations, aims to rebuild the war-torn enclave and prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning conveyed Beijing’s stance during a press conference on Monday (3/10).
On Saturday (3/8), the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy, and the UK declared their support for the Arab nations’ plan to reconstruct Gaza, which has been devastated by what they described as Israel’s genocidal war.
The reconstruction plan, estimated to cost $53 billion (approximately IDR865 trillion), is designed to ensure that Palestinians can remain in their homeland.
"Regarding the Palestinian issue, we have always supported the interests and positions of Arab and Islamic countries. We believe that the principle of 'Palestinians governing Palestine' must be upheld in post-conflict governance in Gaza," Mao Ning stated as quoted on Antara.
She further emphasized China’s commitment to ensuring that the Palestinian people rebuild their homeland on their own land.
"In the long run, resolving the Palestinian issue must return to the proper path of a two-state solution. We will continue working with the international community to play a constructive role in achieving this goal," she added as quoted on Antara.
In a joint statement, European foreign ministers endorsed the Arab nations’ reconstruction plan as a realistic path to rebuilding Gaza, promising swift and lasting improvements.
The plan includes an administrative committee of independent Palestinian technocrats to oversee aid and manage Gaza under the Palestinian Authority’s supervision.
