BSI Distributes Food and Sanitation Supplies to Jabodetabek Flood Victims

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) has extended assistance to flood victims in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) by distributing food, essential supplies, and sanitation kits.
BSI's Director of Sales and Distribution, Anton Sukarna, personally visited affected residents in Bekasi to provide food aid and assist in the evacuation of employees impacted by the disaster.
The bank also distributed 500 meal boxes for iftar, along with staple food packages and sanitation supplies.
"We deeply sympathize with our brothers and sisters affected by the floods and want to help ease their burden, especially during this holy month of Ramadan," Anton stated in a press release as quoted on Antara on Friday.
Beyond direct aid, Anton encouraged the public and BSI customers to contribute to sustainable social initiatives through Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and Wakaf (ZISWAF). He emphasized that ZISWAF serves as both a social and spiritual investment, capable of generating long-term benefits when managed wisely.
Customers can conveniently participate in these charitable efforts through BSI's BYOND mobile application.
As of January 2025, ZISWAF transactions via mobile banking have reached 10.5 million, with a total transaction value of IDR 131 billion. The trend is expected to rise by 60% during the early weeks of Ramadan, leading up to Eid.
To further support this initiative, BSI has launched several programs through BYOND, including providing iftar and suhoor meal packages, Eid gift parcels, prayer essentials, and special allowances (THR) for orphans.
During Ramadan 1446 Hijri, BSI has partnered with nine charitable organizations (LAZ) to host iftar gatherings for 2,500 orphans and underprivileged children, funded through customer donations via ZISWAF on BYOND. These partner organizations include BSI Maslahat, DT Peduli, Rumah Yatim, Rumah Zakat, Sahabat Yatim, Griya Yatim dan Dhuafa, Asar Humanity, LMI, and Yatim Mandiri.
Additionally, BSI has teamed up with 41 Hokben outlets to provide iftar meals for 2,500 orphans and underprivileged children across several cities, including Bogor, Serang, Cirebon, Majalengka, Semarang, and Magelang.
Through these efforts, BSI continues to uphold its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
