SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has emphasized the significant influence of the film industry in shaping public opinion and its potential as an agent of change in spreading positive messages about the dangers of narcotics.

In a meeting with the Caretaker of the Indonesian Film Artists Association (PARFI) on Friday, February 14, BNN’s Principal Secretary, Tantan Sulistyana, stressed the importance of the film community’s active participation in supporting the Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) program.

"This meeting aims to discuss efforts to prevent drug abuse within Indonesia’s film industry," Tantan stated, as confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Both BNN and PARFI agreed on the need for greater collaboration, focusing on educating industry professionals about the risks of narcotics. Plans for seminars, workshops, and anti-drug campaigns targeting actors, actresses, and film crews were discussed.

On the same occasion, PARFI Caretaker Vice Chairman Mutiara Sani welcomed the initiative, expressing commitment to working with BNN in fostering a drug-free work environment. PARFI also plans to incorporate educational materials on narcotics prevention for its members.

The collaboration between BNN and PARFI is expected to serve as a strategic step in reducing drug abuse within the creative industry while setting a positive example for the broader public.

Previously, BNN has partnered with the Indonesian Women's Empowerment Forum (FPPI) to produce an educational film on the dangers of drug threats, titled “Dua Dunia”, which premiered in Jakarta on Friday (02/14).

Chairwoman of the FPPI Central Executive Board (DPP), Marlinda Irwanti, expressed hope that the film would contribute to public education efforts and support President Prabowo’s Astacita vision.

"By doing so, we become an integral part of Indonesian society, actively participating in realizing Indonesia Emas with a drug-free young generation," Marlinda stated during the press conference for the film’s launch.
